Fountain Day (a month and a half later…)

Sorry for the delayed post (per usual)… Hey, I been busy keeping up with this not-so-little-boy…

This is from Stony Point Fashion Park 5.23.09…

Killer Deal!

I got this a few weeks ago, but I needed to chime in and tell you all about my major yard sale score.  Don and I had been planning to buy this very kitchen set for Tlyer for his birthday.  MSRP is around $150.  I got it for $10!  Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!

Could I Be More Proud?

My baby boy went poo poo in the bathroom for the first time today!  Unfortunately…he was in the tub…

Meet Jerry

I know it is unheard of lately to get more than one post in a month…but this was pretty momentous.  I picked up a little baby hitchhiker on my little mountain bike ride today.  There was a baby squirrel in the trail – thank goodness it was an uphill or I surely would have squished it – so I stopped to take a couple of pics with my phone and move it out of the way.  It let me pick it up, but then he would not let me put him down.  So I rode home with it.  Don got some better pics and some video and we nestled him in the old cat carrier with a blankie and some pine cones and some nuts.  We soon found out that he is too young to eat all that and he is about 5 months old.  Don found a rescue organization that rehabilitates little wandering varmints.  He is delivering the baby to a nice woman in Chesterfield as we speak.

Blame Facebook

It has come to my attention (Mom) that some of my loyal subscribers have been patiently awaiting new content.  Today Tyler turns 1 1/2 years old.  My little baby has become a rambunctious toddler.  He can be a handful, but he is wonderful.  At 18 months old, he is comfortably in 24 month clothes, or 2T, depending on where you shop.  He has lots of words and phrases.  His favorite is “Daddy.”  And he likes to say “Where’d he go?”  but in rapid succession that sounds more like: wheredego wheredego wheredego?  We are working on our animal sounds: mmmmmmmmmoo, and wfffwfff wffff, and aaarwww (very realistic cat sound – no mee-owww for this kid).  We’re getting the hang of bock bock bock and we’ll soon move on to the turkey…  Every day brings something new.  But a couple of weeks ago he had his first real snow!  And then a few days later, he ate yogurt with a spoon all by himself.  So proud…

Was the tweak before Christmas

If this weekend is any indication of how awesome the holiday break is going to be… I just don’t know if I am going to survive it! Tyler and I started a wonderful Saturday bright and early with a McDonald’s breakfast at 6:45am – since Toys’R'Us opened at 6:00am, I thought I’d get there early to shop with all of the other loons. (We were shopping for Daddy, by the by.)

McBreakfast

We didn’t have too much success with our shopping, but we had a wicked good time. We ended up at WalMart and found exactly what I was looking for. We also found a not-so-friendly face along the way…

Jurrasic Christmas

We survived the shopping and had a great nap…well, Tyler did anyway. We then had visitors from up north: Jeremy and Jana (pronounced Yah-nah). And how happy was she when we had Tyler parroting her name! “Ya-naa” he would say. Just makes you want to cry. I love it.

When life gives you lemons…

EAT THEM!  Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Goodnight Batty Boy

For those who knew you, Sammy. they knew you weren’t the nicest of cats. But you loved my Don (and you don’t like ANYONE) and because of you (and various other important reasons), I decided to marry him. You gave me warm toes on cold days. You serenaded me with your purrs when I wasn’t in the mood for much else. You were always there for me during tough times, except for when you ran away a month or so ago. Thank you for coming back to say goodbye. I was happy to be your mama. I love you.

Oooooooo We’re Getting Ready!

Yeah the temperature is still in the 80s and our punkins will probably rot before we have a chance to carve them up pretty (which is one of Tyler’s best words: pih-tee!), but we’re already starting to enjoy the holiday season. And that all begins with the kickoff: a visit to the Chesterfield Berry Farm for PUMPKINS!
